Sound Practical

For this project I started off by coming up with ideas of how I could realistically present parallel and contrapuntal sound within 60 seconds. I made a mind map in my book and finally decided to use nature vs littering/ fly-tipping as an example of the maltreatment of nature by people in our local area. The first half of the video uses parallel sound (sound that matches what you can see) and the other half uses contrapuntal sound  (when the sound you hear is different from what you see). For this video I wanted to make the viewers reflect on how their actions affect the environment around them; specifically how littering effects the local environment.

This is demonstrated by the sound but also the images, as I used my own original images and clips that were all of the local area in Greenford. For the location of the photo shoot I went local parks and nearby streets to find litter and to my surprise there was an abundance of it which sadly made my job easier. After gathering enough material to make the video I went on Adobe premiere to edit which took me a long time since I was completely novel to it. But in the end after school on Monday I asked Mr ray (A media teacher) to help me understand how to use it and that helped me tremendously! Thank you Mr Ray!

Equipment:

Canon E0S 200D

Adobe Premiere

In The first half of the video is clips and images of rubbish and garbage around the local parks and streets and the last half is the thriving nature in local parks, the two contrasts each other as one is natural, the result of nature and the other is the result of man made objects that are discarded and the results of that carelessness.  The contrast between nature and rubbish alongside the music in the background makes the video parallel and contrapuntal.
